The Conservation of Cultural Heritage course at the University of Lincoln has been a great opportunity to gain a verity of skills and knowledge in the field. During my 3 years I have worked on a variety of objects such as ceramics, metal, glass, wood, gilded frames, archaeological items, WW1 artefacts, textiles, paper, and organic material. Whilst using a diverse range of scientific equipment, research techniques and tools to support my work. During the second year of my degree I was able to peruse my interest in buildings and work with the conservation officers at the Stafford Borough Councils planning department. Where I gained more experience in a different area of conservation expanding on my knowledge buildings, whilst exploring the ethics applied the historic environment as well as objects. I hope to do a master’s in buildings Conservation, and work to protect historic building material, or become a conservation officer.
